Update from the Radiology Department

We are working to make sure that our patients, their parents/guardians, and our staff stay safe through Covid-19 restrictions.

Appointments for imaging are going ahead.
Appointments will be confirmed with you by phone the week before.
It is extremely important that you tell us if you, your child, or any household member has Covid-19 symptoms, has been referred for a Covid-19 test, is awaiting Covid-19 test results, or has tested positive for Covid-19.

Please note the following in line with our renewed visitor restrictions:

Face coverings must be worn by all Parents/Guardians and all children over 13 years of age when attending the Hospital.
We ask that only one Parent/Guardian attends for the appointment with the patient.
It is not possible to bring siblings or other children to the Radiology Department; if there are circumstances that make this a challenge please call us in advance on the number below to discuss.
We are asking patients to arrive at the Radiology Reception area no more than 5 minutes before their Radiology appointment time.
Once you are checked in with our Radiology Reception team, you will move directly to the room in which your test will take place. The team will direct you to the location.
The waiting room for the department will only be used when it is not possible for a patient to go directly to their imaging room.
All clinical staff in Radiology will be wearing a mask.
Depending on the type of scan being performed, and the length of time you will be in the room, the staff member you meet may be wearing additional protective clothing (visor/gown etc.)
Once your imaging is complete you should either go directly home (if you have no other appointments scheduled), or proceed directly to your next appointment.
