Over 25 Irish Celebrities brightened up the lives of the sick children of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin (OLCHC) this Christmas.  Taking part in the tenth annual “Celebrity Ward Walk”, on Monday, 22 December 2014 some of Ireland’s leading stars took time out of their busy schedules to walk through the wards and sit and talk to the children and their families.

Celebrities who visited the children and sang with the Staff Choir included :

Brendan O’Carroll, Jenny O’Carroll, Pippa O'Connor Ormond, Brian Ormond, Holly Carpenter, Lorraine Keane, Rosanna Davidson. Paddy Houlihan, Mary Byrne, Alison Canavan, Lisa Fitzpatrick, Vogue Williams, Ken Doherty, Bryan McFadden, Lucy Kennedy, Holly Carpenter, Glenda Gilsen, and Doc (Saxaphone)

Valerie and Gary Keating who are supporters of the hospital organise the Celebrity Ward Walk each year.

Rachel Kenna, Director of Nursing says that around 100 very ill children will spend this Christmas in the hospital. “We try to get as many children as we can home for Christmas,” she said.  “Having a child with a serious illness puts a lot of strain on families, particularly at this time of year. That is why coming up to Christmas we try our very best to have some fun in the hospital.  We are most grateful to Valerie and Gary Keating for their continuous support to the children and families attending the hospital and making this event such an annual success”.
