The paediatric radiology department at CHI at Crumlin provides advanced diagnostic radiology and interventional cardiology care to children. The department is staffed by seven radiologists with extensive subspecialty training and experience.

Dr Clare Brenner, MB BCh BAO FFRRCSI FRCR

Dr Brenner is a Consultant Paediatric Radiologist and is the current Administrative Head of Department at CHI at Crumlin. Dr Brenner completed fellowship training in paediatric diagnostic radiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. She is very involved with teaching and training for the Faculty of Radiologists and is one of 5 examiners for the Final Fellowship of the Faculty of Radiologists. Subspecialty interests include neonatal imaging and nuclear medicine.

Dr Angela Byrne, MB BCh BAO MRCPI FFRRCSI

Dr Byrne is a Consultant Paediatric Radiologist and is the Quality Improvement lead for the department. She completed fellowships in paediatric radiology as well as paediatric neuroradiology and MSK at BC Children's Hospital Vancouver, where she also worked on staff. Her areas of subspecialty interest include paediatric neuroimaging, paediatric musculoskeletal imaging and oncology imaging. Dr. Byrne also acts as department education liaison with the Faculty of Radiologists.

Dr Roisin Hayes MB BAO BCh MRCPI DCH FRCR FFRRCSI

Dr Hayes completed fellowship training in paediatric diagnostic radiology at BC Children's Hospital Vancouver. She is involved in all aspects of paediatric imaging, but has a special interest in paediatric oncological and orthopaedic imaging.

Dr Eimear Joyce MB BAO BCh MRCS FFRRCSI FRCR

Dr Joyce completed fellowship training in Birmingham Children’s Hospital. She has a special interest in musculoskeletal and hepatobiliary imaging.

Dr Eoghan Laffan BMedSc MB BCh BAO MRCPI FFRRCSI MSc

Dr. Laffan completed fellowships in paediatric diagnostic radiology, paediatric neuroradiology and paediatric interventional radiology at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, Canada. He also worked as a staff paediatric radiologist at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) for two years, before returning to Ireland. His subspecialist interests include body imaging, ultrasound and neonatal radiology.

Dr Ethna Phelan, MB BCh BAO FRCR FFRRCSI

Dr Phelan completed fellowship training in paediatric diagnostic radiology in Melbourne, where she also worked on staff. She has a subspecialty interest in paediatric neuroimaging. Dr Phelan took early retirement but we are fortunate that she continues to augment our team on a part time basis.

Dr David Rea, MB BCh BAO MRCSI FFRRCSI

Dr Rea completed fellowships in paediatric diagnostic and interventional radiology at The Hospital for Sick Kids in Toronto. His areas of subspecialty interest include paediatric neuroimaging, the imaging of vascular malformations and paediatric interventional radiology.

Dr Aisling Snow, MB BCh BAO MD MRCPI FFRRCSI

Dr Snow completed fellowships in paediatric diagnostic radiology and paediatric MSK and foetal imaging at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her areas of subspecialty interest include foetal MRI, paediatric musculoskeletal MRI and congenital cardiac CT. She completed an MD, focusing on paediatric DXA, through the Department of Paediatrics at Trinity College Dublin.  Dr Snow acts as joint clinical lead for Radiology integration for the new Children’s Hospital.
