Welcome to the Haemophilia and Allied Bleeding Disorder Service in Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin. We are one of the three Comprehensive Care Centres in Ireland. All elective and emergency surgery for all children with inherited bleeding disorders in Ireland is performed in CHI at Crumlin.

Referral to the Haemophilia and Allied Bleeding Disorder Service

A patient can be referred to the Haemophilia and Allied Bleeding Disorder Service by another hospital, their GP, other Treatment Centres or by self-referral (where there is a positive family history).

Safe Management

CHI at Crumlin is proud to embrace the concept of family-centred care and is holistic and supportive of the role that parents, guardians and families play while their child is in our care. As innovators in the care and management of child health, we, as an organisation, strive continuously to improve the health of children through the integration of care, education and research while:
- Providing a child-focused service with a commitment to children, which respects the uniqueness, individuality and dignity of each child and their family.
- Providing excellent standards in the provision of specialist nursing care to children and their families.
- Sharing the knowledge and expertise gained in the management of these children and their families.
- Continuing to champion and advocate for children and their families.
- Embedding the family centred care ethos into core values and care planning processes within the organisation.
