Packing for a hospital stay is a lot like packing for any trip away from home.

You’ll need all of the things you would normally pack for a night away from home but you may also want to bring a few extra personal items.
Just in case, we’ve made a checklist to help you to remember all of the things that will make your hospital stay more comfortable:

  • Comfortable pyjamas, slippers, and a dressing gown. Don’t forget, our hospital can be very warm so you’ll probably only need light pyjamas.

  • Any comfort item that that you sleep with at night, such as a teddy bear.

  • Comfortable day clothes. There are plenty of fun things to do during the day in hospital such as playing games with our play specialist, or with friend’s you make on the ward. It’s a good idea to have something comfortable to wear for the times when you are allowed to get out of bed.

  •  A few of your favourite toys, books, DVDs, Mp3 player, or maybe a handheld games console.

  • Any school books you’ll need to keep up with your classes.

  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, facecloth, hairbrush, and any other things you need to keep yourself clean.

  • A photo or two of family and friends as it’s nice to see some friendly faces when you wake up in the morning.
