CHI Nurse Education Committee

Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) has a long history of supporting and delivering children’s nursing education in Ireland. As CHI moves towards the integration of people and services in preparation for the move of hospital services to the new children’s hospital, it is timely to create structures to support nursing education across the hospital group. The CHI Nurse Education Committee (NEC) was established in 2022 and its membership includes nurses from across all four CHI sites in addition to representatives of CHI’s affiliated universities, namely Dublin City University, Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin.

The CHI NEC purpose is to provide a strategic oversight function in relation to structures, processes and learning environment for nursing registration education and continuing professional development for nurses across CHI. This page will host the guidelines and documents which will be developed and approved by the CHI NEC.
