Who we are

The Centre of Children’s Nurse Education (CCNE) is located in Children’s Health Ireland with sites at Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght and Connolly. Our team includes staff from Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght and Connolly. We engage and collaborate with many stakeholders and subject matter experts in children’s nursing. We are governed by a Board of Management, including representatives from CHI and Nursing and Midwifery Planning and Development Units.

What we do

The CCNE provides continuing education, training and professional development for registered children’s nurses, other registered nurses, support and health and social care professionals who provide and deliver health care services for children across Children’s Health Ireland and a variety of settings nationally.

Our Strategic Objectives

  • Readiness to meet the expected rise in demand for education and training

  • Contributing to the quality of healthcare for children and families

  • Ensuring nurses’ readiness and competence for the National Model of Care

  • Preparation for the move to the New Children’s Hospital (CCNE Strategic Plan 2017-2021)
