Welcome to Our Lady's Hospital School
(Department of Education & Skills)
About us
Our school is committed to the continuity of education for children who have been hospitalised at both Primary and Post-Primary level. We provide education in a caring and compassionate environment.
We adapt the education to meet the individual needs of children and adolescents aged four to eighteen years.
Children can be:
In-patients
Patients or siblings of patients who reside in hospital owned accommodation
Repeat day-patients
Patients from the hospital attending other hospitals for treatment
Siblings of patients when there is no alternative available
Post Primary students who are under 18 years of age, and are parents of children who are in-patients of the hospital
Every morning the school staff visit the wards and collect pupils for school. You don’t need to worry if you haven’t brought your uniform with you! Pyjamas and slippers will do just fine. If you don’t have a schoolbag, that’s not a problem either – everything you need will be available in the classroom. If you have a hospital appointment, a dressing that needs to be done, bloods to be taken, just come down to the classroom when you are ready!
