CHI at Temple Street has a range of facilities to help make your visit as easy and comfortable as possible.

Services

Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hospital.

Pharmacy

While our primary function is to purchase medications and supply them to the wards, we also provide an information and advice service to healthcare professionals, patients, parents and carers. This type of service is called “Clinical Pharmacy”

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
(Closed for lunch between 1pm and 2pm)

Chapel

The Hospital Chapel in St. Joan’s Corridor is open from 7am to 8pm daily.

Parent accommodation

We have a small number of rooms within the hospital for parents and guardians to stay. Accommodation cannot be guaranteed, and priority is given to parents and guardians of seriously ill children, postnatal mothers, breastfeeding mothers and those from outside of Dublin.

Please contact the Accommodation Office as soon as you receive an admission date for your child if you’d like to stay.

Our parent accommodation unit is located on the second floor with easy access to all wards.

Our room fees are:

  • €15 for a single room
  • €25 for a double room

Special rates are available for medical card holders at €10 for a single room and €20 for a double. Breastfeeding mothers are free.

School

The Hospital School CHI at Temple Street is an accredited school funded by the Department of Education and Skills.

The Hospital School CHI at Temple Street, located on the Hospital premises, ensures that children unable to attend mainstream schooling as a result of illness don’t miss out on their education.

Classes are delivered in the Hospital School CHI at Temple Street Classrooms and at the bedside on the wards.

Food, drink and essentials

Restaurant

Our restaurant serves hot and cold food for staff, patients and their families.

The restaurant is open from 07.30am – 2.30pm Monday to Friday & 08.30am to 10.30am on Saturday & Sundays (Inc Bank Holidays) and is complemented by a food vending service. The lunch menu provides four main course options for lunch which includes:

  • Vegetarian option
  • Gluten Free option
  • Halal option
  • A wide selection of healthy option foods
