Children's Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin is committed to promoting the safety and wellbeing of all children in our care. Child protection is the responsibility of all staff and to support this there are a number of mechanisms in place. CHI at Crumlin's practice is informed by Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children, DOH 2017.

CHI at Crumlin has an active Child Protection Committee reporting to the Corporate Management Team. Our Child Protection Coordinator for the hospital is Sheila McCrory, Head Medical Social Worker. CHI at Crumlin complies with the Garda Vetting requirements in the recruitment of staff to the hospital. We offer training to all staff and are continuing to develop this in CHI.

CHI will continue to strive to ensure all Children are cared for in safe, secure and caring environment.
