    Breast Milk Feeding

Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, believes that in general breastmilk feeding is the healthiest way by which a woman can feed her baby.  The hospital recognises the important benefits that breastmilk feeding provides to both the nursing mother and her baby.

Every endeavour will be made by the hospital to provide encouragement and active support to a mother who chooses to feed breastmilk to her baby. The hospital will also ensure that the nutritional requirements of the sick breastmilk-fed baby are adequately met throughout the stay in hospital and on discharge home.
