OLCHC Pharmacy Department wins Hospital Pharmacy Award
Tuesday, October 21st: Congratulations to the Pharmacy Department at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, on winning the Novartis Innovation and Service Development Award for 2015 at this year’s Hospital Pharmacy Awards.
The OLCHC Pharmacy Department are the largest Paediatric Hospital Pharmacy Department in Ireland. The team won the award with a patient focused project that emphasises safety, appropriate use of medicines, supply of medicines, access to information, drug dosing, and that the pharmacist is always accessible and at the forefront of care.
Moninne Howlett, Senior Pharmacist at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, said, “I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of our team. We are a paediatric hospital, and we therefore take care of a particular group of paediatric patients, often when they are being discharged into the community. We have a heavy involvement in making sure they have a seamless transition of care. We take very special care of the children in our care so this award and recognition means a great deal to us all.”
