Re: HSE Scoliosis Action Plan

Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin (OLCHC) welcomes the publication of the overview of the HSE Scoliosis Action Plan 2017 and is fully committed to ensuring the implementation of the Plan. This Plan will deliver on short to medium term reductions in scoliosis waiting lists at the hospital.

OLCHC regrets that children are still waiting for their individualised care plan for surgery. We wish to reassure parents that we are in the process of developing a care plan for each of our scoliosis patients on the inpatient waiting list.  To ensure the best possible clinical outcome for every patient awaiting surgery, this process involves a multi-disciplinary approach with the Orthopaedic Surgeons.  We will communicate with families once this process has been completed. Your co-operation in this matter is appreciated.

The HSE are offering children on the waiting list the option of being clinically assessed to have their surgery abroad (UK or Germany) which came about as a result of an EU tender taken by the HSE as part of the HSE Action Plan for Scoliosis.

If you wish to discuss this option of having your child assessed for outsourcing please contact the hospital on the below numbers.
